MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
At Neighborhood Cancer Connection (NCC), we understand the emotional and mental toll cancer can take. That’s why we offer free, holistic mental health services designed to support the mind, body, and spirit. Led by licensed professionals Katie Bennett and Chameka Duncan, our services include one-on-one counseling, support groups, and specialized workshops. Whether you’re navigating a cancer journey, supporting a loved one, or seeking resources as a survivor, our compassionate team is here for you. Next, we’ll reach out for a brief introductory call to help you explore the support groups and services available to assist you on your healing journey.

We help clients address negative thoughts, regulate emotions, and enhance mindfulness, empowering them to navigate their journey with greater mental clarity and resilience.
Caring for physical health is vital during cancer treatment. Our program promotes wellness activities and occasional nutrition workshops to strengthen the body and enhance emotional well-being.

The mental and emotional impacts of cancer are the most difficult to measure but are deeply felt. Our team offers several different cancer support groups as well as free, one-on-one counseling to assist with the emotional toll of cancer. These services help provide a true sense of connection and community for our clients.

Counselors
LISW-CP, Counselor
Katie Bennett holds a Master’s degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (B.A.) from Clemson University. Currently in supervision for Expressive Arts Therapy, Katie works with both children and adults. She employs an integrative approach to counseling, blending client-centered therapy with complementary therapies such as sand tray, expressive arts, and mindfulness to support her clients’ unique needs.
COUNSELORS
LPC, NCC, Counselor
Chameka Duncan, LPC, NCC, holds a Master’s degree (M.Ed.) in School/Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Business Management from Winthrop University. She provides counseling services to both teenagers and adults, utilizing an integrative approach that combines client-centered modalities tailored to meet each individual’s needs.
